Ethan Martin's debut

Well, it took long enough, but Ethan Martin finally made his pro debut...about 3 weeks ago. I hadn't seen note of it up until today, so I apologize for the delay and lack of details. Coming off of arthroscopic knee surgery, Martin pitched 2 scoreless innings against the Padres' instructional league club on September 27. 20 of the 29 fastballs he threw were strikes, many of them touching 94 mph, and he mixed in a few changeups as well. Being able to throw that many strikes after such a long layoff is a good sign, and it could mean Martin will make his regular season debut next year in full season ball.
