Player of the Day - James Adkins, LHP
Adkins had one of his best outings of the year today, though the game went to 14 innings and the Lookouts ended up losing. He's struggling with his control again this season, walking a batter every other inning and he has more walks than strikeouts. James oddly enough has reverse lefty/righty splits: righties are hitting .277 with 1 HR in 48 innings, while lefties are hitting .347 with 4 HR in 11.1 innings against him. The good news is his BABIP vs lefties is an astronomical .394 and should regress to the mean, as should his .308 BABIP on groundballs. So, while he does need to throw more strikes, he's also getting pretty unlucky.
