    Thanks for the answer, Jared. How good do you think James McDonald will be? Which MLB pitcher he could be compared to?

    McDonald doesnt have the overpowering velocity on his fastball that you'd look for in a #1, but he spots the pitch very well and can throw both a good curve and a good changeup. His ceiling is probably a #2 or #3 starter.

    A comparison I've seen is Chris Young of the Padres. Young has about 5 inches on him, but both have over the top deliveries that generate steep downhill planes, making average stuff play up due to deception. That would be best case scenario, of course.
