Player of the Day - Geison Aguasviva, LHP
While Russell and Buss had great days at the plate, it was Aguasviva's continued dominance that gave him the edge. Geison was mentioned as a player to watch 2 years ago by Logan White, but last season was forgettable, as he posted a brutal 8.38 ERA in 8 games for the Loons last year before heading down to the Pioneer League and dominating. He got off to a late start this season, but made up for lost time by stringing together 4 outings without allowing an earned run. He's striking out almost a batter an inning, keeping his walks down and holding batters to a .167 average. In a rotation that already includes Ethan Martin, Nathan Eovaldi and Justin Miller, Aguasviva is providing Great Lakes with yet another young, talented pitcher.
