Player of the Day - Nick Akins, OF

I apologize for being a day late on covering the Arizona Rookie League, since I just assumed it would start tomorrow along with the Pioneer League. This award should count twice for Akins, who went 3 for 4 with a double and a home run yesterday. He's making up for lost time after not signing out of high school and he has a lot of promise with the bat. Hopefully he'll continue to rake and move quickly through the system.
