Player of the day - Allen Webster, RHP
Allen Webster has been the biggest surprise in the Dodgers' system this season. A relatively unknown 18th round pick out of a North Carolina last year, Webster showed potential to miss bats but also spent a lot of time missing the strike zone altogether. Allen's weakness seems to have become a strength; after walking 17 batters in 18.1 innings in 2008, he's walked just 16 in 66.1 innings this year, including only 2 free passes in Ogden. He's also struck out more than a batter an inning, induced 1.75 groundballs for every flyout and allowed 0 home runs. He should join a very promising Great Lakes rotation next spring.

Victor Garate is *way* too much to give up for Ronnie Belliard. What the hell was Ned thinking?

Ned has problems with that whole "value" concept.
