Carlos Alvarez notched 2.1 more shutout innings. Matt Riley gave up an earned run without allowing a hit, which is unique. Jax and the Sox face off tomorrow at 4pm.

High A - Inland Empire won 4-3

Lucas May - 1 for 4, R
Jamie Hoffman - 1 for 4, SB
Blake DeWitt - 1 for 4, R, 2 E's

Cory Wade - 3.2 IP, 0 Hits, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 K's

Another relatively low scoring game for the 66ers. De Jesus went hitless for the first time this season but still managed a walk. May, Hoffman and DeWitt collected a hit a piece, though DeWitt committed 2 errors giving him 4 on the season. Russell Mitchell upped his average to a team leading .471, producing his third multi-hit effort in 4 games. Arias was solid if unspectacular in his second start. Cory Wade picked up his 3rd win in relief. Ramon Troncoso allowed an unearned run to finish the game while striking out the side. Inland Empire opposes Lancaster again tomorrow at 7pm.

Carlos Santana - 0 for 3
David Sutherland - 0 for 3, K
Scott Van Slyke - 0 for 2

Wall struggled in his 2007 debut and really hasnt regained the stuff he had as a prep. Mattingly drove in all 3 runs for the Loons. Santana, Sutherland and Van Slyke went hitless. Bridger Hunt went 1 for 3 with a double and scored two runs.

Game 2 - Great Lakes won 5-2

Josh Bell - 0 for 2, R, BB, K
David Sutherland - 3 for 3

Clayton Kershaw - 5 IP, Hit, 0 R, 3 BB, 7 K's, 2 Pickoffs

Kershaw was back to his dominant self in part two of today's doubleheader. He last 5 innings, allowed 4 baserunners and even picked two of them off first base. The walks are still a little high but hopefully his command will improve as the weather does. Good games offensively for Robinson, Sutherland and Francisco Lizarraga, who is hitting .500 on the season. Steven Johnson takes the hill for the Loons tomorrow at 4pm
