Player of the Day - Scott Van Slyke, OF
The second 5 hit effort of the seaosn for Scottie, he saw his average soar .033 points today. His 12 doubles lead the Cal League and his batting average rates sixth. However, I still have reservations about how real this production is. Coming into the day, Van Slyke's BABIP was an incredible .433 in spite of just a 14.3% LD rate. He desperately needs to reverse his walk/strikeout trends.
