Low A - Great Lakes won 11-9

Trayvon Robinson - 2 for 6, 2B, 4 RBI, R, SB
Preston Mattingly - 4 for 6, 2 2B's, RBI, 2 R, K, SB
Josh Bell - 3 for 5, HR (1), 3 RBI, R
Carlos Santana - 1 for 5, 2B, 2 R, K, E
Scott Van Slyke - 1 for 4, 2B, RBI, R, BB
David Sutherland - 1 for 4, R, BB, K

Another game, another thriller. The Loons fell behind in the first inning when starter Thomas Melgarejo allowed 2 runs. Great Lakes scored a pair to tie it up in the top of the 5th, but the Lumberkings scored 4 in the bottom of the inning. The Loons came back to tie again, with 2 runs in both the 6th and 7th innings, but Clinton scored twice in the bottom of the 7th to pull ahead 8-6. Neither team scored in the 8th. Then in the 9th, Josh Bell led off with a single. Carlos Santana forced out Bell at 2nd but went to 2nd himself on a throwing error. Van Slyke then lined out to 2nd to leave the Loons with their final out to work with. Matt Berezay then doubled to cut the lead to a single run. After a pitching change, David Sutherland walked and Elian Herrera was hit by a pitch to load the bases for last night's hero Trayvon Robinson. And he delivered, crushing a bases clearing double to put Great Lakes ahead 10-8. Mattingly lined his 4th hit into center to score Robinson and after Eduardo Perez singled, Josh Bell flew out to end the inning. In the bottom of the 9th, Mattingly committed his 11th error of the season to allow the leadoff man to reach. That was followed by another single and two groundouts, the second of which scored a run to bring Clinton within 2 runs. But the final batter struck out swinging and the Loons pulled off another comeback win. Great Lakes looks to extend their win streak to 5 tomorrow in the finale with Clinton at 11am.
