Miguel Pinango got his 3rd start in Triple A, but didnt enjoy the same success he had in the first 2. Pinango allowed 5 Runs, 4 of which were earned, in 4 innings. Matt Kemp only collected 1 hit but had a key defensive play in the 8th inning, throwing a runner out at home to end the inning. James Loney has reached base safely in 9 of his last 10 games. Double A - Jacksonville had the day off

High A - Inland Empire lost 19-7

Jamie Hoffman - 2 for 5, 2B, 3 RBI, R, K, CS
Russell Mitchell - 3 for 4, 2 2B's, RBI, R, K, HBP
Lucas May - 0 for 5, 2 K's, PB
Travis Denker - 2 for 3, HR (4), RBI, 2 R, BB, K
Blake DeWitt - 1 for 4, E
Ivan De Jesus Jr - 0 for 3, BB, K

James McDonald - 3 IP, 7 Hits, 4 R (2 ER), 2 BB, 3 K's

To put it gently, it just wasnt a good day for 66ers' pitching. James McDonald, who had allowed 3 ER in his last 5 outings, gave up 2 ER in 3 innings and was pulled. He gave up all the runs in the 3rd inning, though he struggled in the first but wriggled out of a bases loaded jam by inducing a double play. In the 3rd, he allowed a triple, struck the next batter out then gave up just his 2nd HR of the year. Following a walk and a popup, DeWitt's fielding error led to a single and a run scoring double, before McDonald recorded his 3rd strikeout to end the inning and his outing. Reliever Jordan Pratt struggled mightily, allowing 3 consecutive 2 out walks before ending the 4th inning without allowing a run. In the 5th, he wasnt so lucky. The first batter popped out, and Pratt proceded to allow 7 consecutive hitters to reach base, all of whom scored. Matthew Gomez de Segura allowed 6 runs of his own, while David Pfeiffer allowed just 2. At the plate, Russell Mitchell stayed hot, collecting doubles #16 and #17. Denker hit his 4th HR and walked. Hoffman hit his 10th double. Lucas May and Ivan De Jesus Jr stayed cold, while raised his average to .220. The Empire looks to bounce back tomorrow at 6:30pm.

Low A - Great Lakes won 10-7

Trayvon Robinson - 2 for 5, 3B, 3 RBI, R, K
Josh Bell - 3 for 5, 2 2B's, HR (4), 3 RBI, 2 R, 2 K's, SB
Preston Mattingly - 1 for 5, R, K
Scott Van Slyke - 3 for 4, 2B, RBI, 2 R

Josh Wall - 5 IP, 8 Hits, 7 R (5 ER), BB, 4 K's

Josh Wall struggled yet again, but was gifted his 2nd win by the Loons' offense. Wall's ERA jumped to 6.00, but only walked 1 batter, gave up just his 2nd HR and recorded 8 groundball outs. The downside is he also threw 2 wild pitches and hit 2 batters. Oh, and he gave up 5 ER. Anyways, Josh Bell stayed hot, hitting his 2nd HR in as many days and increasing his hitting streak to 8 games. He also raised his doubles total to 7 and stole his 3rd base. Robinson hit his 2nd triple, while Van Slyke clubbed his 7th two-bagger. Mattingly is still struggling to reach the Mendoza line, lifting his average to .180. Great Lakes hopes to stay hot as they return to action tomorrow at 4pm.
