High A - Inland Empire lost 8-7

Lucas May - 2 for 5, HR (10), 3 RBI, R, PB

Travis Denker - 3 for 4, RBI, CS
Ivan De Jesus - 1 for 3, HBP
Javy Guerra - 5.1 IP, 3 Hits, 4 ER, 5 BB, 6 K's
Javy Guerra struggled in his first and last innings of work as the bullpen couldnt hold onto a lead. Guerra walked the bases loaded in the 1st before allowing a 2 run double. He then retired 10 of the next 11 before the 6th, when he allowed 2 more walks and wild pitched a run in before leaving. Jordan Pratt allowed another run to score and that was it for Guerra. A very Jekyl and Hide performance. May hit his 1st HR since May 11th and just his 2nd of the month. DeWitt is on fire right now. He's 11 for his last 15 and has hit safely in 9 of his last 10 games. He's hitting .312 in May. Denker also just keeps on slugging and is batting .350/.414/.504. The Empire heads back to San Bernardino for a 7 game homestand, starting tomorrow with Rancho Cucamonga at 5pm.

Low A - Great Lakes lost 10=3

Preston Mattingly - 1 for 4, 2 K's
Scott Van Slyke - 0 for 3, BB
Starter Arismendy Castillo struggled en route to his 2nd loss and the Loons couldnt catch up. Castillo allowed 6 ER in 2.2 innings, raising his ERA to 6.27. Bell hit in his 12th straight. Mattingly got his single a day late. Van Slyke drew his 11th walk. A name to watch is James Peterson: he didnt play at all last year but has gotten off to a great start through 8 games. He's hitting .387/.472/.742. Though he's 23, he's a good hitter and should earn a promotion to High A in no time. Great Lakes returns home for 2 more games with Lansing, starting tomorrow at noon.
