The 51's led wire to wire behind a solid effort from Spike Lundberg. Lundberg allowed 3 runs over 6 innings, earning his 3rd win in Triple A. Greg Miller continued his tailspin, following a leadoff strikeout by allowing the next 5 batters to reach base. Matt Kemp extended his hitting streak to 13 games, collecting his 16th double. Delwyn Young came a triple short of hitting for the cycle. Despite his hitless night, Andy LaRoche drew a pair of walks to give him a 13:14 walk to strikeout ratio in Vegas. James Loney did not play. Tomorrow is getaway day as the 51's travel home after their 11:10am contest.

The Suns fell behind early, but mounted a late inning comeback to take their 3rd straight from Mobile. Starter Giussepe Norrito allowed 3 runs, only 1 earned, over 5 innings before giving way to the bullpen. And reliever Wesley Wright and Jon Meloan combined for 4 innings of 1 hit ball. Wright won his 3rd and Meloan saved his 9th. Raglani hit leadoff for the first time this season, but he's still struggling as his average now rests at .235. Chin Lung Hu drew his 13th walk of the season and is hitting .333. Xavier Paul has 6 walks in his last 3 games and is batting .283. Dunlap's average is up to .261. Blake DeWitt homered in the first inning, but the 66ers promptly lost the lead and never could come back. Jesus Castillo allowed 5 runs in the bottom of the first and 2 more when he allowed 3 batters to reach base in the 3rd before getting pulled. Castillo lost his 4th game and raised his ERA to 4.37. May had 2 hits but also allowed his 15th passed ball. Ivan De Jesus Jr hit his 1st HR of the year and is batting .260 with 28 walks in just under 200 at bats. CF James Tomlin missed the cycle by a triple. The Empire plays game 2 of 3 with High Desert tomorrow at 7:05pm.

Starter Thomas Melgarejo gave up 6 runs in 5.2 innings but still managed to pick up his first win of the season. Doug Brooks allowed 3 runs in 3.1 innings to earn his 2nd save. Josh Bell hit his 7th HR, though it was only his 2nd hit in June. Preston Mattingly hit his 3rd triple in the past 4 games and has 5 on the year. Carlos Santana has 6 doubles but is still hitting just .172. The Loons head out of South Bend after tomorrow's 4pm contest.
