Miguel Pinango was outdueled by Fresno's Chris Begg, who tossed a 3 hit shutout. Pinango allowed 3 runs in 6 innings for his 2nd loss in Triple A. Matt Kemp's hit streak ended at 14 games, while Loney and LaRoche each went hitless as well. Vegas stays with Fresno for 3 more, including tomorrow at 7:11pm.

Justin Orenduff struggled through 4 innings in his second straight start. Orenduff has allowed 12 ER in his last 8 innings, raising his ERA to 5.05. Mark Alexander, Wesley Wright and Luis Gonzalez combined for 5 scoreless innings but the damange had already been done. Chin Lung Hu has 8 hits in his last 18 at bats. Xavier Paul has reached base in 9 of his last 10 games. Cory Dunlap is hitting .333 in June, while Anthony Raglani is hitting just .136 so far this month. Jacksonville hosts Chattanooga again tomorrow at 4:05pm.

Alberto Bastardo earned his 3rd win of the season as the 66ers cruised. Bastardo went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits and 5 walks while striking out 8. Cory Wade got the save, working 3 innings of 1 hit ball while striking out 5 and lowering his ERA to 1.89. Travis Denker clubbed his 11th double and his 1st triple while raising his batting average to .335. Jamie Hoffman also had 2 hits and stole his 10th bag. Russell Mitchell hit HR #8. The top 4 hitters in the lineup went 0 for 16, while the bottom 5 went 7 for 14. The Empire hosts Modesto tomorrow at 7:05pm.

Great Lakes fought hard in a back and forth battle to come out on top. Starter Michael Gardner allowed a first inning run before getting 3 back from his offense in the bottom of the inning. However, Gardner allowed 2 more in the 3rd to tie the game before the offense gave him another run in the bottom of the 3rd. Again, Gardner gave up the lead by surrendering his 4th run in the top of the 4th. Mikey lasted 1 more inning before giving way to the bullpen. Cody White came in to toss a scoreless 6th and the offense gave him a run in the bottom frame. After Josh Wall pitched a scoreless inning in relief, the Loons added another score in the bottom of the 8th to put the game away. Trayvon Robinson stole his 12th base. Preston Mattingly raised his average to .243 and he's hitting .391 in June. Scott Van Slyke threw a runner out at home. Great Lakes hosts Fort Wayne tomorrow at 4pm.
